Raltron has developed a parabolic antenna series that provides continuous coverage from 600MHz to 6.5GHz.

There are two antennas in the ‘RGP’ series:

  • RGP-MBF4-825-17F-TA-001

       820mm round, 215mm deep
Heavy duty version – one-piece dish

  • RGP-MBF4-6099-17F-TA-001

       ~0.6 x 1m rounded rectangle, o.4m deep
       Two-piece dish

Both cover the whole frequency range, but can be optimised for gain in certain bands by telescoping the feed horn between detented positions.

Construction is aluminium rod-and-bar, with hand-welded joints and a double powder coated white finish.

“The RGP Series offers an ultra-wide band to eliminate the need for customers to purchase multiple antennas to support multiple frequencies,” claimed Raltron v-p of sales Ross Weiss. It “features a robust and light weight design to ease installation in homes, apartment buildings, manufacturing facilities, office buildings, recreational and entertainment facilities”.

Polarisation can be vertical or horizontal. Gain ranges from 15 to 25dBi standard, while gain and beam-width can optimised at 600 – 900MHz or 4.5 – 6.5Ghz – there are more settings, see the data sheets.

Both versions come with an installation kit that includes a tilt/swivel mast bracket for 1.25 to 2inch diameter masts.

Applications are seen a cellular booster supporting 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G on all worldwide bands for voice and data, including LTE, CDMA, GSM, UMTS and AWS.

“The RGP Series also supports military, government, public safety and homeland security bands,” according to the company. “The ultra-wide band means the series is suitable for most emerging IoT applications, GNSS bands, SDR, ISM 900 and satellite radio including Sirius-XM.”
