Author: EIS Release Date: Sep 9, 2020

Intended to partner home healthcare products, California-based TrumPower has released a family of medically-approved IP54 rated desktop ac-dc adaptors.

TrumPower-TPM150-psu

Inputs range over 90 – 264Vac and 47 – 63Hz (drawing 2Arms at 115V and 1A at 230V).

Power handling varies slightly with output voltage, spanning 132-150W across the family as voltage rating varies from 12V to 48V.

Other output voltage options are 15, 18, 19, 20, 24, 27, 30 or 36V.

The part number for the 18V part, for example, is TPM150-18.

Withstand voltage is 4kVac from input-output (2 x MOPP – means of patient protection) and 1.5kVac from input-ground (1 x MOPP), making it suitable for use in patient care environments.

The TPM150 series is approved by UL/cUL and TUV to medical standards including IEC/EN/UL 60601-1 Edition 3.1, ANSI/AAMI ES 60601-1:2012, and CSA-C22.2 No. 60601-1:2014.

They complies with IEC/EN 60601-1-2 4th edition medical EMC and immunity standards, including EN 55011, VCCI and FCC class B (conducted and radiated emissions), EN 61000-3-2, EN 61000-3-3, EN 61000-4-2 (ESD at ±15kV air and ±8kV contact), EN 61000-4-3, EN 61000-4-4, EN 61000-4-5, EN 61000-4-6, EN 61000-4-8, EN 61000-4-11.

There is a class II version that meets IEC 60601-1-11 for home healthcare applications.

Efficiency complies with CEC Level VI and EU CoC EPS Verson 5 Tier 2.

MTBF is calculated at 100,000 hours minimum at 25°C ambient per MIL-HDBK-217F, and operation is over an ambient range of -20°C to +60°C, derating linearly from 100% load at +40°C to 50% load at +60°C.

Size is 90 x 175 x 28mm and the standard output lead is 1.2m long terminated in a 4 pin circular DIN plug, intended to mate with a Kycon KPJX-4S-S socket or equivalent. The company can offer other output cable and plug options.

Ac inlets are IEC320/C6, IEC320/C8, IEC320/C14 or IEC320/C18.
