Puls Power has introduces a series of DIN rail ac-dc power supplies.

Puls-Piano-DIN-rail-psus
Part of the Piano series and called Piano-PIM, they are intended for “use in industrial applications which only require a basic power supply so that customers do not have to pay for unnecessary control and communication facilities”, according to the company.
Input range is single-phase 100-240Vac, and the outputs are all 24V.
PIM36 up to 36W 22x90x91mm

PIM60 up to 60W 36x90x91mm (there is also a 12V version)
PIM90 up to 90W 36x90x91mm
Operation is across -10°C to +55°C without derating.

“The PIM90 is currently the smallest 90W DIN rail power supply on the market,” claimed Puls. “The design saves space on the rail in the control cabinet and makes them ideally suited for decentralised use in cramped systems or spaces, for example building automation.” – the PIM90 is also available as an NEC Class 2 version for the US market (PIM60.245)

Inside is a single PCB with a mosfet-based synchronous rectifier design – the 90W Piano works at up to 93.8% efficiency at full load at +40°C ambient.

Loss is <500mW in idle or stand-by – the company said building safety power supplies often remain in stand-by for days or weeks.

Low heat allows polycarbonate to be used for the housing for an impact resistant enclosure, and a plastic housing means the power supplies can be operated without grounding.

PIM60 and PIM90 are available with either screw or push-in terminals, while there is only a push-in version of PIM36.
