6GHz mosfet antenna switches from Rutronik

Author: EIS Release Date: Jun 18, 2020

Rutronik is offering two miniature CMOS wideband RF antenna diversity switches from Infineon, operating across 50MHz to 6GHz.

Both are specifically designed for WLAN and Bluetooth and will operate at 26dBm (CW, 1.1 VSWR, 50Ω)

  • BGS14WMA9 is a single-pole four-way in a 9pin SMD 1.1 x 1.1 x 0.55 mm package

Its bandwidth also allows use with FM Radio, LTE, LAA and 5G
Any of the four ports can be used as termination of the diversity antenna handling up to 26 dBm

Built-in switchable 50Ω termination resistor on the common port for isolation mode
Control is though a MIPI RFFE 2.1 bus

  • BGS12WN6 is single-pole dual-throw switch in a 0.7 x 1.1 x 0.37mm (PG-TSNP-6-10) package

Either port can be used as termination of the diversity antenna handling up to 26dBm
        No internal terminaton resistor.
control is though a binary input pin

Unlike GaAs switches, said Infineon, external dc blocking capacitors at the RF ports are only required if dc voltage is applied externally.

Operating is over 1.65 to 1.95V and -40 to 85°C. Max supply current is 120µA for the two pole switch and 150µA for the four-pole. In addition, the latter has a 5µA max power-down mode.
