“T55 series vPolyTan surface-mount polymer tantalum chip capacitors has recently been extended to include devices in the D case size [EIA 7343-31]. These parts offer ESR values from 9mΩ down to 7mΩ, previously only found in larger case sizes,” according to distributor New Yorker Electronics, which is stocking the parts.
Ripple current ratings are up to 5.67Arms, and capacitance tolerance is ±20%. Bulk energy storage in wireless cards is a particular application foreseen for these capacitors.
TR3 parts are solid tantalum capacitors.
Available in the A, B, C, D, E and W case sizes, ESR can be as low as 45mΩ and maximum ripple-current handling capability at 100kHz spans 0.1A to 2.5A.
In C, D and E case sizes, the TR3 capacitors are 100% surge-current tested.
Industrial, telecom, and consumer applications are expected for the TR3 series, according to New Jersey-based New Yorker, which is a franchise distributor for Vishay and carries the full line of Vishay discrete semiconductors (diodes, mosfets and infra-red optoelectronics) and passive electronic components (resistors, inductors and capacitors).
