Harwin has made its Datamate Mix-Tek connectors more flexible – moving away from compulsory contact combinations.

There is a choice of housings, designed to accommodate coaxial and power contacts.
“OEMs can now purchase cable housings for these 2.00mm and 4.00mm pitch connectors without contacts fitted, rather than being restricted to a small number of pre-defined kits,” according to the company. “Procurement teams can get access to high volumes of the parts directly from stock. Production staff can then assemble the specific housing-contact elements as requirements dictate.”
Loose contacts come in a choice of coaxial (50Ω up to 6GHz), 20A power, 40A power and 3A signal.
Housings are fitted with a range of different jack screws, including standard gender, reverse-fix and guide pin panel-mount.
Once assembled, connectors are resilient to shock and vibration, operate over -55°C to +125°C, and support 500 mating cycles.
Applications are foreseen in motorsport, electric vehicle engine control and electric vehicle battery systems.
“The full extent of the Datamate Mix-Tek platform may now be leveraged by our customers, as all signal, power and coaxial contact variations in combination with our popular housing types are can be purchased straight from the stock reserves,” said Harwin product manager John Brunt. “This follows on from similar schemes for both the Gecko and M300 series.”
