For $60,000 you can buy a machine called a HOLOPORTL which lets you talk in real-time with a life-sized hologram of someone else.

The HOLOPORTL is made by an LA company called Portl headed up by David Nussbaum.

PORTL has a snappy sales pitch: ‘If you can’t BE there BEAM there’.

A HOLOPORTL is seven feet tall, five feet wide and two feet deep, and can be plugged into a standard wall outlet.
