Cosel has added a 1.2kW conduction-cooled ac-dc power supply to its TUNS series.

For medical and industrial use, TUNS1200 is only 12.7mm high (117 x 87mm footprint) and weighs <280g.
“TUNS1200 is suitable for applications requiring a silent power solution such as in a surgery room,” according to the company. “Equally, it is suitable for industrial applications when forced air ventilation is impossible due to environmental constraints.”
Input range is 85 to 305Vac, and there are three output versions:
Output voltage can be adjusted +/-20% (-20% +10% for 48V version) using the trimming pin, and it is also possible to adjust the output voltage down to zero by applying an external voltage source using the active voltage trimming input (Vtrm).
Power efficiency is typically 92% and power factor is 0.98 at 100V.
For applications such as battery chargers requiring constant current, there is an Itrm pin that can set the output current anywhere from just above zero upwards. Another pin allows a resistor to set output current.
For more power, up to nine TUNS1200s can be connected in parallel to deliver up to 9.75kW with conduction cooling – in parallel, a current balance pin allows active current sharing.
Packaged in sealed plastic housing with an aluminium heat-transfer baseplate, operation is across -40 to +100°C at the baseplate – with de-rating depending on cooling capacity.
Four M3 threaded mounting holes are included for fixing the unit to a cold plate or an additional heatsink, and there is an option for 3.4mm non-threaded inserts (option T).
Units have a 3,000Vac input to output isolation (2 MOOP), 2,000Vac input to ground isolation (1 MOOP) and 500Vac output to ground isolation.
Over-current, over-voltage and thermal protection are included.
TUNS1200 complies with the safety agency approvals: UL62368-1, EN62368-1, C-UL (equivalent to CAN/CSA-C22.2 No.62368-1 ), ANSI/AAMI ES60601-1, EN60601-1 3rd, C-UL (equivalent to CAN/CSA-C22.2 No.60601-1), and IEC60601-1-2
There is an active filter complying with harmonic attenuation IEC61000-3-2 (Class A).
The warranty is five-year.
