Semtech, AWS and TensorIoT combine on LoRaWAN For IoT

Author: EIS Release Date: Aug 31, 2020

The Asset Tracking Kit enables users to monitor and track assets and fleets along the lines of regulatory compliance for “just in time” shipping and the need to be able to provide precise information and traceability of inventory from source to destination, including performing a regular automated inventory of assets that are available on site. With the data generated by the GPS industrial trackers included with the kit easily viewable on a Cloud dashboard, users can evaluate the possible benefits of tracking their assets remotely anywhere at any time with an out-of-the-box kit.

The two reference kits are out-of-the-box solutions designed to reduce design in time and to allow remote users to locate assets and monitor via the cloud.

With Semtech’s LoRa devices and the LoRaWAN  protocol combined with AWS IoT services, Systems Integrators and Enterprises are now able to use AWS IoT services to accelerate the pilot-to-production lifecycle.

AWS native services will include AWS IoT Core, Amazon API Gateway, AWS Lambda, Amazon CloudFront, Amazon S3, and Amazon DynamoDB.

The Asset Tracking and Smart Building Kits are the first LoRaWAN-based vertical product offerings built using AWS IoT Core and a serverless architecture.

2. The Smart Building Reference Kit enables users to monitor doors and windows, desk and room presence, environmental conditions, and detect water intrusion in near-real time accessible via the Cloud from anywhere accessing valuable insights into building occupant wellbeing and productivity as well as maximizing space utilization. For large-scale IoT deployments, scalability is essential, and these kits take advantage of the highly available and scalable infrastructure AWS provides. The portable nature of the Smart Building Reference Kit allows users to move sensor locations to assess completeness of network coverage.
