Richardson RFPD announced today the availability of and design support capabilities for a low noise amplifier from Macom Technology Solutions.
The MAAL-011129 is a three-stage low noise amplifier with high gain and broadband 50Ω match. It is designed for operation from 18 to 31.5GHz and housed in a lead-free 2mm 8-lead PDFN plastic package.
The amplifier has an integrated active bias circuit and bias tee to allow direct connection to VDD without external chokes or DC blocks. The bias current is set by an external resistor, RB, so the user can customize the power consumption.
The MAAL-011129 is a surface-mount low noise amplifier that Macom says is well suited to diverse receiver applications, including VSAT, point-to-point and 24GHz ISM.
Additional key features of the amplifier include a noise figure of 2.5dB at 24GHz and a high gain of 23dB at 24GHz. It also features an adjustable current between 1 and 80mA
