Targeting students, teachers and robotics hobbyists, the Jetson Nano 2GByte developer kit expands the company’s Jetson AI at the Edge platform.
It was introduced at the virtual GTC event and is intended to teach AI with hands-on projects in robotics and intelligent IoT applications.
The company has also produced free online training and AI-certification programs, which will supplement the open source projects, together with videos from developers in the Jetson community.
The kit realises that today’s students will, in the near future, be interacting with and delivering AI to robots.
Deepu Talla, vice president and general manager of Edge Computing at Nvidia, described the kit as “the ultimate starter AI computer that allows hands-on learning and experimentation at an incredibly affordable price.” It is priced at $59.00 (around £45.00)
It is supported by the JetPack software development kit (SDK), which has a full Linux software development environment and is powered by the CUDA-X accelerated computing stack, which is the same stack as Nvidia’s data centre AI computing platform.
The Jetson Nano developer kit is designed to be scalable and is supported with an embedded computing ecosystem, including Lockheed Martin, where it has been used in its AI training.
The Jetson Nano 2GB developer kit will be available at the end of October.
