SiTime continues to siliconise the $7.7 billion timing market with ApexMEMS resonators.
The devices represent SiTime’s third-generation of all-silicon MEMS technology and operate at popular MHz frequencies.
ApexMEMS resonators are suited for high volume, space-constrained Mobile and IoT applications such as Bluetooth modules, hearables, high-speed connectivity interfaces, asset-tracking, and microcontrollers.
“With our recent Cascade family of MEMS Clock-System-on-a-Chip, and now ApexMEMSstandalone resonators, SiTime has offerings in all three major timing categories,” says SiTime CEO Rajesh Vashist,
Designed into the SiTime SiT9501 differential oscillator and the Cascade family of Clock SOCs, ApexMEMSresonators deliver up to 7 times better phase noise performance at half the power.
The new resonators provide industry-standard stability while delivering superior reliability and best-in-class environmental resilience, like all other SiTime devices. The resonators are designed to operate reliably at temperatures as high as 105oC.
The ApexMEMS resonators can also enable a high-performance, system timing solution as they can be co-packaged with other semiconductors into standard IC packages.
This provides semiconductor suppliers a silicon advantage, by eliminating discrete timing components and simplifying design and manufacturing. Silicon MEMS timing solutions also provide customers with a roadmap-rich potential for feature expansion.
