Pfannenberg has created a series of external fans to save space inside equipment racks.
Pfannenberg-Datawind-Filterfan
“Datawind Filterfan has been designed specifically for IT racks with rails that get in the way of a traditional filterfan, and removes the need to sacrifice rack space to achieve needed cooling,” according to the company.
The fans are certified for indoor use (NEMA 12/IP55), providing electrical enclosure with some protection against water and dust.
An LED indicator is included to warn when the temperature exceeds the desired temperature inside the cabinet, or a fan malfunctions, or a filter clogs – the filter is a fluted mat.
The 30° sloped top design is intended not to collect dust.
The IEC power cable is 1.8m and is located on centre of the fan to allow the door to hinge in both directions
There is also a 4m cable to an adjustable dual thermostat with DIN mount bracket – this is to be DIN-rail-mounted inside the cabinet at its hottest part. One half of the thermostat turns the fan on and off to extend fan and filter life, the other half independently sets the LED operating temperature.
Options are:
PF 22000 – 38CFM air flow, 236mm wide
PF 33000 SL – 152 CFM air flow
PF 67000 – 560 CFM air flow, 378mm wide
Black (RAL 9004) housing with a black fan
White (RAL 9003) housing with light grey fan

Of the 12 possible combinations, only 560 CFM, black 230V is not listed in the product brief.
