Binder is aiming at factory automation with a 12 contact version of its IP67 (once coupled) Series 718 connectors that mount through an 8mm hole using an in-built M8 thread.
“The UL-approved screw coupling M8 connectors give installers a high degree of flexibility as they are quick and simple to install,” according to the firm. “The scope of sensor and automation applications has been greatly increased now that a 12-contact version has been introduced.”
These are field-wireable moulded male and female cable connectors and panel mount connectors, which binder can supply terminated with PUR cable or single wires – configured to meet a specific requirement if needed.
Standard cable lengths are 2m or 5m or 200mm single wires.
Shielded or non-shielded versions are available.
Connections are rated at 1A (40°C) and 30V (500V impulse).
Contacts are brass with gold plating, held in PA, in a nickel-plated die-cast zinc housing.
Expected durability is >100 mating, and “the screw locking mechanism is resistant to vibration”, said binder.
Applications are foreseen in process control, industrial networking, robotics and machine tools.
Binder is family-owned and based in Neckarsulm, Germany. It has offices in Switzerland, France, the United Kingdom, Sweden, the Netherlands, China, Singapore and the USA.
