ON Semi's KNX Arduino-compatible evaluation board is suitable for applications such as smart homes and building automation

Image of On Semi's KNX Arduino ShieldQuick-start KNX projects with ON Semiconductor’s family of NCN51xxASGEVB Arduino shield compatible evaluation boards. The Arduino Uno V3 connectors ensure compatibility with a wide variety of development boards, enabling rapid prototyping with a microcontroller (MCU). The external components necessary for operating the transceivers are included on the shield.

The ON Semiconductor NCN51xx series of KNX transceivers handle the low-level communication necessary to comply with the KNX standard. The high level of integration (multiple DC/DC converters and LDO) allows for an industry-leading small design footprint. Download the demo software here.

Features
  • KNX certified TP transceiver with an embedded PHY layer, 9,600 Bauds communication speed
  • Two highly efficient DC/DC converters and one linear regulator:
    • DC/DC1: fixed 3.3 V
    • DC/DC2: adjustable between 1.2 V and 21 V
    • Linear regulator: 20 V
  • Bus current consumption: up to 40 mA
  • Supervision of temperature and of the power regulators
  • Direct coupling of analog signaling to the host
  • Extended ambient temperature range: -40°C to +105°C
  • NCN5110 bit transceiver can be used in any TP1-256 application
  • Most KNX applications can directly be supplied from the NCN5110, removing the need for an external costly power supply
  • Best-in-class overall system efficiency
