With the introduction of its field stop trench technology, Micro Commercial Components continues its product expansion in the power semiconductor market. The first IGBT devices allow currents of 40 A by a maximum voltage of 650 V and 1200 V. Other voltage and current levels are under development. The field stop trench technology offers low conductions (low Vce(sat)) and low switching losses (low EOFF) and allows paralleling due to the positive temperature coefficient. Typical applications for these IGBTs are half- or full-bridge topologies as required in inverters for motors or renewable energies, UPS, welding, and induction heating.
