All-metal 1W current sense resistor in 0805

Stackpole Electronics is pitching its 1W-rated CSSH0805 all-metal 0805-size chip resistor family against 1206 and 2010 parts for current sensing.

It comes in three temperature coefficient versions:

 

±100ppm types are rated up to 44.72A (89A over-load) and are available between 500μΩ and 1mΩ in 1, 2 and 5% tolerances

±75ppm types are rated up to 25.81A (51A over-load) and are available between 1.5mΩ and 2mΩ in 1, 2 and 5% tolerances

±50ppm types are rated up to 20A (40A over-load) and are available between 2.5mΩ and 13mΩ in 1, 2 and 5% tolerances, and also 7mΩ and 13mΩ at 0.5%

The power rating is temperature-dependant (operation can be up to up to 225°C) and page 11 of the data sheet has realistic advice on power ratings in particular circumstances.

 

 

Applications are foreseen in power modules, frequency converters, home appliances and vehicles.
