Essex-based Pickering Interfaces has launched 9kV switching modules for test use, with PXI or LXI interfaces.

Pickering 40-42-323-60-23x 9kV test modulesEssex-based Pickering Interfaces has launched 9kV switching modules for test use, with PXI or LXI interfaces.

The 4x-323 PXI and 65-23x LXI ranges include multiplexers and un-committed SPST switch arrays “enabling complex test setups to be implemented,” according to the company. “Hardware interlock is provided on all models in addition to loop-thru ports on multiplexer and matrix products to facilitate simple expansion.”

PXI
40-323 (PXI) and 42-323 (PXIe) SPST modules have up to 14 of the company’s own reed relays inside, which can cold-switch up to 9kV dc, or ac peak, and hot-switch up to 7.5kV – limited at 50W or 250mA.

LXI
The LXI modules are based on a 2U Ethernet-controlled modular chassis that can be configured with up to six plug-in switch modules – each plug-in module can hold up to 50 reed relays with the same specification as the ones inside the PXI modules.

65-231 are 1-pole multiplexers with various channel counts and bank quantities. “These can be interconnected with external cables to form larger multiplexers up to 288 channels,” said Pickering
65-233 has up to 50 SPST uncommitted switches per plug-in for general-purpose high-voltage applications
All modules include RFI suppression components to extend relay contact life and control surges caused by high voltage transients.

Connections are made via Redel K or S series high voltage connectors – Pickering offers a range of interconnection accessories to support the Redel connector series, and provides custom cable manufacturing through its connection division.

All modules also get a three-year warranty.
