LG will show off webOS Auto, an OS for connected cars derived from its smart TV system and co-developed with Qualcomm and Microsoft.
WebOS Auto is based on Qualcomm’s Automotive Development Platform (ADP) and supports iHeartRadio, Mapbox, and Cerence.
The OS goes up against incumbents Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
At CES, LG will demo various services enabled by the OS such as Internet radio and video streaming..
Microsoft is expected to demo audio, video and navigation aervices combining webOS Auto and the Microsoft Connected Vehicle Platform (MCVP).
