Intel is putting its fab stable into a foundry-customer relationship with the rest of the business,  CFO David Zinsner has told investors.

This would make  Intel the second largest foundry with manufacturing revenue of more than $20 billion, said Zinsner.

Zinsner said the move would reduce costs by $3 billion a year.

Intel has construction plans for fabs in Ohio, Germany, Arizona. Oregon, Ireland and Israel.
