Qorvo launches circuit simulation software
Author: EIS Release Date: Aug 3, 2023
QSPICE circuit simulation software raises design productivity in power and analogue designs through simulation, said Qorvo. It is designed for analogue simulation and allows designers to simulate complex digital circuits and algorithms. It combines schematic capture and fast mixed-mode simulation and is available free of charge.
“In the past, power designers relied on analogue circuits and silicon power switches. Today, digital control and compound semiconductors are common elements of advanced power designs,” explained Jeff Strang, general manager for Qorvo’s Power Management business.
It can be applied when developing AI algorithms for EV battery charging, optimising a Qorvo pulsed-radar power supply or evaluating the newest silicon carbide FETs, he added.
The software offers enhancements over legacy analogue modelling tools. In addition to support for advanced analogue and digital system simulations, such as those used in AI and machine learning applications. There is an upgraded simulation engine that uses numerical methods and is optimised for modern computing hardware. It also includes a GPU-rendered user interface and SSD-aware memory management, to provide dramatically higher speed and accuracy, said the company.
The software reduces overall runtimes and a 100% completion rate, based on Qorvo benchmark tests is superior to the failure rate of up to 15% with these same test circuits using other popular SPICE simulators, said the company.
Qorvo also provides regularly updated QSPICE model library featuring Qorvo’s SiC and advanced power management to evaluate and design with Qorvo power devices.
