IP65 sealed 10.1 inch industrial tablet with optional LTE comms

Aaeon has created a rugged 10.1inch industrial tablet computer for industrial, construction, manufacturing and inventory use.

“Ideally suited for use in outdoor operating environments, the RTC-1020 features IP65-compliant environmental sealing and has an operating range of -20°C to 50°C,” according to Review Display Systems (RDS), which is stocking the tablet. “Certification to MIL-STD-810H drop and shock stress testing guarantees the tablet is rugged, durable and fit for use in heavy industry.”

 

Processing is via a choice of 11th Generation Intel Core processors: i5-1145G7E (4 cores and 8 threads), i3-1115G4E or Celeron 6305E, alongside 8Gbyte of LPDDR4X memory.

 

 

I-O includes Micro-HDMI, a COM port for RS-232/422/485, a Gbit Ethernet port, and USB 3.2 Gen 2 via both Type-A and Type-C ports.

 

 

The unit is RED (Radio Equipment Directive) certified, said RDS, and can be purchased with a pre-installed LTE module. 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi is supported, as are up to three global navigation satellite systems, “including GPS and Galileo, with Glonass and BeiDou also supported”, said RDS.

 

The screen has 1,920 x 1,200 resolution and 800nits output to assist reading it in sunlight.

 

Cameras are 5 and 8Mpixel at the front and rear respectively, and there are six physical keys, three of which are user configurable.

 

To remove the need to power-down, there is provision for two hot-swappable lithium-ion batteries.

 

Further options include hand and shoulder straps, a docking station, a charging dock, enhanced battery packs and power adaptors.
