Author: EIS Release Date: Oct 23, 2024

Flex Power Modules has launched a 750W intermediate bus converters at the OCP Global Summit in San Jose.

Flex BMR321 dcdc module
Fitting in to the Open Compute Project’s (OCP’s) OAM V2.0 footprint (41.47 x 17.67 x 6.9mm) BMR321, as it will be known, is unregulated and has a fixed 8:1 conversion ratio to take an input between 40 and 60V and produce a 5 to 7.5V output.

Up to 750W can be delivered continuously, with peaks up to 1,500W. Efficiency is up to 98%.

Applications are foreseen in data centres.

At the same time, it announced an extension to its existing 27 x 18 x 6.4mm 400W BMR320 range.

BMR320x0xx/002 (002 suffix indicates the new part) can peak at 740W, and shares the voltages and fixed 8:1 ratio of BMT321 above. Up to three BMR320 supplies can be paralleled if required.

Lastly, BMR323 is scheduled for early 2025, with the BMR320 form-factor and “offering even higher continuous and peak power”, said flex, with out adding more.
