300W is with forced air and only 200W (115Vac) is available continuously if only convection cooling is available – with ambient temperature caveats. Up to 375W can be delivered for 1s.

Different models offer a choice of output voltages including: 12, 15, 18, 24, 28, 36, 48 or 54V. Output adjustment means that almost the whole 12 to 60V span an be covered.

Features include: 2x MOPP isolation, a dedicated auxiliary fan supply, internal dual line fusing, remote sensing, and an AC-OK signal.

It has “a ‘BF’ rating, making it suitable for equipment that requires direct contact with patients”, said Vox. “This rating is crucial for applications like surgical instruments and critical care medical devices, ensuring that they can be safely used close to the patient.”

Approval is to 60601-1 and 62368-1 for medical and ITE applications, and there is compliance with 60601-1-2 (EMC), 60335-1 (household appliances), 61010-1 (measurement, control and laboratory equipment) and 61558-1 (power transformers safety).

They supplies are designed for both Class I and Class II equipment, and meet EMC Class B standards for conducted and radiated emissions.

Operation is across 85 to 264Vac and -40 to +70°C, and up to 5,000m. Stand-by consumption is typically 250mW.

Protections such as over-voltage, over-current and over-temperature are standard.

Electrolytic capacitors are long-life – claimed MTBF is >500,000h – and conformal coating is standard.
