P-12 is an all-electric hydrofoil ferry from Candela in Sweden.

It can carry up to 30 passengers “with ample space for ski gear in the winter and bikes in the summer”, according to the company.
Its has a range of 40 nautical miles at 25 knots from its 4 x 63kWh battery, which can be charged at up to 175kW from a dc supply.
Motive power comes from two of the company’s ‘C-POD’ propulsion units (below), each of which as two motors, one at the front and another at the back.
Overall, the boat is 12m long, 4.5m wide, weighs 10 tonnes, and has an active system to control the height at which it moves over the water’s surface.

The one in the photo above is destined for Lake Tahoe in the US, where a company called FlyTahoe is to provide a 30-minute cross-lake service.
Candela launched its first electric vessel, the C-7, in 2019, and has manufactured over 100 vessels since. It has over 200 engineers and staff across sites in Stockholm, San Francisco and Bangkok, and is building a US factory.
