Masayoshi Son visits President Trump and pledges $100bn investment in US

Masayoshi Son, the CEO of Arm’s owner Softbank, went to Mar-a-Lago earlier this week to pledge to make a $100 billion investment in the US.

President-Elect Donald Trump said that it will it was “a monumental demonstration of confidence in America’s future.” He said it would create 100,000 jobs.

Trump called Son: “One of the most accomplished business leaders of our time” and “One of the Masayoshi Son visits President Trump and pledges $100bn investment in USmost successful investors in the world.”

As well as saying that Trump’s  election victory has “tremendously increased” his confidence in the US economy, Son said: “Of course, business is important, technology is important, but one more thing I’m really hoping is that President Trump will bring the world into peace again. That’s my additional hope and I think he will actually make that happen.”

 

After Trump’s first Presidential Election victory in 2016 Son went to Mar-a-Lago and pledged a $50 billion investment in the USA.

At their joint press conference at Mar-a-Lago Trump said he had been in contact with Xi Jinping saying: “China and the United States can together solve all of the problems of the world if you think about it. So it’s very important.”
