Embedded World: Percepio Detect seeks observability of embedded systems

Author: EIS Release Date: Mar 3, 2025

Percepio, the Swedish maker of Tracealyzer, has released Percepio Detect, a tool to increase observability of embedded code and Edge devices during system testing.

Percepio Detect
Optimised for use during testing of RTOS-based systems, it’s aimed at embedded software developers and supports the testing and debugging of embedded code. Specifically, supporting Continuous Integration and Continuous Testing (CI/CT) processes.

“While cloud-native companies like Dynatrace and Splunk focus on large-scale IT environments, we’re bringing deep observability to the edge, where real-time insights are critical,” said Andreas Lifvendahl, CEO of Percepio AB.

“Percepio Detect demonstrates our commitment to enabling Observability Driven Development (ODD) for the embedded community, helping them achieve faster, more reliable development-and-test iterations and higher quality software.”

Dashboard
The tool provides monitoring and a shared dashboard with debug data access for team collaboration. It captures diagnostic snapshots complete with core dumps, call stacks, and system traces. It also supports analysis of data from the system under actual execution and occurrence of any anomalies.

Note that this is for systems testing. Tracealyzer is most useful in the development stage and Percipio DevAlert in deployment. You can read more about the tool on the Percipio website.

Embedded World
Percepio will be at Embedded World co-exhibiting with the Zephyr Project c/o The Linux Foundation [4-170]. And also with Logic Technology B.V [4-238].
