Amphenol has introduced a series of IP67 waterproof rear-mount FAKRA coax connectors for panels in industrial and automotive environments.
Amphenol IP67 FAKRA connectors
There are four versions to cover four coax cables: TFC 302LL, RG-174, RG-58 or LMR-195.
Within these versions, there are 10 keying patterns, each with its own insulator colour for easy identification, and also each with a nominated use: for example the ‘A’ keyed version is ‘jet black’ (RAL 9005) and is intended for DAB, AM and FM radio signals.
This range also includes the universal non-keyed ‘z’ variant (‘water blue’).
“These rear-mount bulkhead plugs allow the connector to mount through a panel or enclosure wall,” according to the company. “These plugs are sealed in both the mated and un-mated condition, ensuring that no contaminants enter. A gasket seals the interface internally, while an o-ring seal sits between the flange and panel mount for additional security.” Sealing is to IP67.
