Harwin offers quick-printing anti-covid-19 face shield design

Author: EIS Release Date: Apr 28, 2020

Harwin, the Hampshire-based connector company, has modified an existing 3d printable anti-covid-19 face shield design to make it print quicker, and has put the print file on its website here for others to use. Cutting instructions for the matching transparent plastic part are here.

The company is using its printers and staff to make and assemble these shields for health workers – the photo shows a doctor at Bridge View Medical wearing a completed Harwin face shield over her personal protective equipment.

An impressive number of companies in the UK Electronics Industry, too many to mention here, have voluntarily turned their facilities over to assist in the anti-covid-19 effort.
