Green Hills Software to offer Excelfore’s in-vehicle network (IVN) stacks, integrated and optimised with Green Hills’ Integrity real-time operating system (RTOS) and its embedded TCP/IP v4/v6 networking stack.
The combined software will support:
“Together, these solutions provide the security, safety, performance and protocol support required in the next generation of vehicle gateway electronics systems,” according to Green Hills. “Excelfore’s stacks bring time-sensitive networking to Ethernet and provide a robust solution set for TCP/IP to reach edge devices throughout the connected vehicle. Across the automotive industry, Excelfore’s eAVB/TSN is running in automotive OEMs’ cameras, video displays, head units and ECUs and enabling in-vehicle network gateways to provide access to CAN, LIN and other buses via the in-vehicle Ethernet TCP/IP interface.”
eAVB/TSN stack has been designed, said Excelfore, to work across operating systems from Linux to Android to primitive simple operating systems, or even systems with no standard OS at all: “The complexity of modern in-vehicle networks demands software that integrates all types of networks and busses, whether on high-end processors or simple ECUs. Ethernet, scalable to multiple gigabits of speed, provides a common backbone that can move traffic to and from CAN, LIN, FlexRay, and other busses. Our implementations of AVB/TSN, DoIP, and UDS provides interoperability across a wide range of devices, from simple sensors and actuators to cameras and video displays and to the most powerful ECUs and headunits.”
